Join Caudwell Children as they take on towering mountains such as Snowdon and Ben Nevis or the daunting 25-mile Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge are all admirable goals for people looking to test themselves.

This year, over 200 people joined Large Outdoors on the Summit Snowdon Challenge in aid of four Midlands hospitals, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital.

Now it’s a bit of a mantra of Large Outdoors that a good walk needs to include at least one opportunity to tuck into a slice of cake, either on route or at the end of the hike.

So as you can imagine I’ve been doing quite a bit of research over the years and narrowing down the list to just six has been an effort but here goes:
