Gallery - A social walking weekend on the UNESCO Jurassic Coast in Dorset.

This gallery relates to our -  Jurassic Coast Walking Weekend - Lulworth Cove

In March 2024 our group of social walkers enjoyed a weekend in Lulworth on the Jurassic Coast. The weather looked better than forecast as we set off from the hostel to Lulworth Cove. We enjoyed the sights and even had time for a quick look at the visitor centre before setting off for Durdle Door. It looked spectacular today as the sea had a stunning turquoise hue. We soon left the day trippers behind as we headed along the “undulating” South West Coast Path. It was so good  to see this stunning coastline with its dramatic chalk cliffs.

After lunch we set off back a little more inland along ancient tracks that gave a great view over the sea. After sheltering from a sudden storm we arrived back at the hostel, just time for a quick beverage in the village pub before dinner.

On day 2 we headed out from the hostel in the opposite direction to see the eastern part of the Coastal path. The weather was super kind to us and the blue sky was reflected by the sea. We passed through the firing range (We’d checked that it wasn’t active today) and head as far as the beautiful  bay at Arish Mell. We returned via Mupe bay and saw the famous fossil first. Then had a look at Lulworth Cove again before returning to the hostel and heading home.

Will you join our next Walking Weekend to Lulworth Cove?
