Suggested Itinerary
Here’s what we’ve got planned - of course, we may have to offer alternatives or make amendments if the weather misbehaves or other unexpected situations arise!
-
Arrive from 5 pm at our charming cottage nestled near the Pembrokeshire coast, where your Large Outdoors host will be ready to welcome you. Settle in, find your sleeping quarters, and enjoy a cuppa as you take in the beautiful ocean views from our base. Dinner will be served around 8 pm in a relaxed atmosphere, where you'll have a chance to meet your fellow adventurers and hear about the weekend's upcoming walks along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. With everything provided for you tonight, it’s the perfect start to a sociable and scenic weekend.
-
After breakfast, we set off directly from the cottage to Freshwater West, where we’ll explore the beautiful sands and dunes before joining the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. As we follow the cliffs, expect stunning views, especially around Sheep Island. Our mid-walk stop at the historic Old Point House offers a refreshing break in a traditional pub setting. From there, we’ll continue along the coast, exploring new sections of the path as we make our way back toward the cottage.
-
Our day begins with breakfast before a short drive to Bosherston. We start the walk at Saint Govan’s Chapel, a unique chapel built into the cliffs in the 6th century, with a rich history and local legend. From here, we follow the coastal path to Broad Haven for a mid-morning break, then continue to Stackpole Head and Barafundle Bay for lunch on one of the area’s most scenic beaches. In the afternoon, we arrive at Stackpole Quay, a National Trust site with a history as a limestone port, and stop at the Stackpole Tearoom. Our return to Bosherston leads us through the Lily Ponds and across the picturesque Eight Arch Bridge.
-
On our final day, we’ll enjoy breakfast together before a shorter walk near Manorbier, famed for its Norman castle. The fortress offers a glimpse into the region’s history, overlooking the rugged coast. We’ll explore the castle grounds before walking a nearby stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. To wrap up the weekend, we’ll stop at the castle tearoom for Welsh cakes and hot drinks. For those with more time, we can gather for a final meal or cuppa before saying our farewells.
Transport to Manorbier or Tenby Train Station can be arranged, providing a relaxed end to our weekend.
